Nissan gets ready to launch their new Nissan Evalia in time for the upcoming festive season before the end of 2012. Being offered in a choice of four trim levels XE, XE+, XL and XV all trim levels except for the low end variant will be equipped with airbags. The Evalia measures 4.4 m in length, 1.88m in height and 1.69 m in width making it an ideal comfort vehicle for upto 7 adults. While launch details are still under wraps, Hover Automotive India is gung ho about incresaing their footprint pan India. Last week saw the inauguration of a new dealership in Noida.

Evalia MPV will be placed in a category of Urban Class Utility Vehicle in India and will be positioned somewhere between Maruti Ertiga and Toyota Innova. With prices in the region of Rs.7 lakhs to Rs.10 lakhs primarily due to high percentage of localization, the vehicle will be fitted with a K9K 1.5 liter common rail turbocharged diesel engine offering 85 PS and 200 Nm maximum torque mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox. Fuel economy is pegged at 19.3 kmpl as per ARAI testing reports.

Spacious, convenient and enhanced fuel economy is what the company is hoping to attract Indian buyers. Evalia is about 200 kgs lighter than its competitors while suspension is enhanced to cater to difficult Indian road conditions. Toyota Evalia is fitted with enhanced safety features which include ABS with EBD. Interior seating is done up in beige. A diesel and CNG version of Evalia could also be making its entrance into Indian auto markets while an automatic version is also not a distant dream.
