Nissan GT Academy in Thailand launched, Rounds being held across India

Nissan and Sony Play Station launched the first ever Indian season of GT Academy 2014 in Delhi last month and in Mumbai from March 20 to 23. Following this success, Nissan in collaboration with Sony Thai Co has launched the Nissan GT Academy in Thailand marking its maiden entry in the ASEAN region.

The new Nissan GT Academy in Thailand will be seen as a boost to virtual racers to opt for Pro NISMO Athlete as the GT Academy offers an ideal platform for Thais to experience motorsports at an international level. The program seeks gamers who have mastered the PlayStation (R)3 Gran Turismo(R)6 (GT6(TM) thus ensuring that they become professional drivers and allows them to let loose their adventurous spirit and achieve their potential.

Nissan GT AcademyGT Academy in Thailand will consist of rounds in which top 28 Thai gamers will be selected out of which 14 will be from Nissan GT6 Simulators and 14 will be from PlayStation R Network. These participants will be given an opportunity to get behind the wheel of a Nissan GT6 Simulator at Nissan GT Academy Live Event to be held at Nissan booth at Bangkok International Motor Show from March 26 to April 6, 2014.

Nissan GT Academy will also go on a 4 city road show from April 24 to June 15 with top contestants clocking the fastest time being eligible to participate in the National Final. The final winner will then be a professional NISMO Athlete going on to receive a Driver Development Program to compete in the Dubai 24 Hours in January 2015.

Alongside, Nissan GT Academy‚Äôs Indian qualifying rounds are being held through ‚ÄėLive Events‚Äô in shopping malls in 5 select Indian cities. An online qualifying round that will be hosted on the PlayStation Network (PSN) at a later date and is an ideal platform for a gamer and enthusiast to make the shift to being a real race car driver and compete at the International Level. Nissan GT Academy ‚ÄúMumbai Rounds‚ÄĚ were held last weekend at R CITY MALL, Ghatkopar.
