Nissan Micra Active with Pure Drive dCI badge on tailgate was spotted on test in Chennai and gearing up for display at 2014 Auto Expo in February.
Almost similar to the original Micra, the model will be powered by a 1.5 liter K9 engine producing 64 hp, while it will compete with the likes of Chevrolet Beat and Tata Indica. Micra Active Diesel could be priced between INR 4.5 and INR 5.9 lakhs while Chevrolet Beat is priced from INR 4.78 lakhs onwards. Active petrol variants – XE, XL, XV and XVS come with power steering and air conditioning and are priced from INR 3.50 lakhs for the XE variant and going all the way upto INR 4.89 lakhs for the XVS trim.
In the mean time, Nissan has also unveiled updated Sunny in Thailand and also expects to showcase this saloon at the 2014 Auto Expo. Called Nissan Almera in Thailand, the model gets various chrome accents, redesigned 15” alloy wheels and interiors are seen with new music system, Bluetooth connectivity and 6.1 inch touchscreen DVD player. There is also a new start/stop system on board the Almera which should result in better fuel efficiency.
Nissan’s Evalia facelift is also heading to 2014 Auto Expo with updates to include a new grille, factory fitted AC unit for rear seats and other driver and passenger conveniences to take on the likes of Maruti Ertiga. (Image via)
