Nissan Sunny facelift gets a number of safety features which include ABS and EBD along with brake assist as standard features. Its top end variants also get front and side airbags. Exteriors of the new Sunny sport a larger grille, restyled bumpers and chrome accents around fog lamps and a central airdam. The new Sunny also receives auto folding door mirrors and sits on new 15” wheels.
Engine options include a 1.5 liter petrol engine belting out 99 ps peak power while a 1.5 liter K9K diesel engine is also offered with peak power of 89 ps. It is this diesel engine that is also seen on board the Evalia, Micra and Logan. No prices have been announced as on date, nor did they mention a launch date.
Nissan also showcased its Friend-Me Concept at the 2014 Auto Expo. This concept looks sporty due to its new roofline and huge alloy wheels. It is muscular in appearance and aggressive in stance and is an instant appeal to buyers in the younger generation. Nissan Friend-Me concept is powered by PureDrive hybrid powertrain which includes a 2.0 liter petrol engine in combination with an electric motor.

NEW DELHI, India (February 6, 2014) – Nissan showcases the strength and depth of its entire Indian line-up at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo – headlined by the national debut of the New Nissan Sunny.
The stunning Friend Me concept also makes its first appearance in India at the country’s premier motor show alongside the mighty GT-R GT500 race car which competes in Japan’s prestigious Super GT Championship.
The rest of the Nissan stand embodies the brand’s promise of providing innovation and excitement for everyone and highlights Nissan’s commitment to India through its extensive model range spanning the hatchback, sedan, MUV and SUV segments.
This is showcased at the Expo by Nissan’s entire family of ‘made in India’ models including Micra and Micra Active hatchbacks, Evalia MUV and Terrano Compact SUV.
In addition to the vehicles, the show also sees Nissan introduce the ground-breaking ‘Nissan GT Academy’ to India. GT academy gives gamers a once in a lifetime opportunity to become real-world racing drivers by competing on racing simulators.
Nissan also continues to raise awareness of road safety in India at the show through the Nissan Safety Driving Forum (NSDF) open air display. The GT-R GT500 is at the very pinnacle of performance and showcases Nissan’s prowess in race-winning engineering and technology. This specially developed race version GT-R competes in Japan’s coveted Super GT Series in the GT500 class. The car is powered by a 3.4-litre V8 engine and features the best in racing design and aerodynamics. Just one example includes the rear wing and fender which employ a special “Shark Tooth”-shaped design, which reduces drag while maintaining downforce.
The Nissan Terrano premium compact SUV adds its powerful presence to the Nissan stand at the Delhi Auto Expo. Terrano takes styling cues from the legendary Nissan Pathfinder and Patrol SUVs and translates them into a rugged yet stylish compact SUV, perfect to be driven everyday and everywhere. Nissan showcases the host of accessories for customers to personalize their Terrano.
