Nissan Sunny XV special edition launched for a much needed boost in sales
Nissan India has announced the launch of a new edition for their Sunny Sedan, XV special edition. Added features of this new special edition Sunny include state of the art touch screen multimedia system with remote, rear parking camera and leather seats.
Coming in with same petrol and diesel engines as seen in standard model the new Sunny XV special edition will possess some added features and enhanced comforts which will justify its higher price tag. These updates will include rear parking camera with sensors, 2 din multimedia system with touchscreen and rear spoilers. The petrol engined options will roll out max power of 100 PS at 6000 rpm while peak torque is at 134 Nm at 4000 rpm. The diesel engine variant will churn out 86 PS peak power at 3750 rpm with torque figures touching 200 Nm at 2000 rpm.
Both these engines will be mated to a five speed manual transmission. An X Tronic CVT automatic transmission variant is also scheduled for launch in the coming months. Nissan has announced, that both Micra and Sunny will receive automatic gearbox in the near future.
Nissan is aiming to capture a 10% market share in the Indian auto industry by 2016, from current 1.6%. In order to achieve this, they will be launching new cars and increasing the network of their dealerships in India. For Jan 2013, Nissan India sales declined by 21%.
