Novak Djokovic reveals new Peugeot 508 in London
Midweek, new Peugeot 508 was presented in London. The D-segment grand tourer wears a new grille, and features reversing camera and blind spot sensors. The new grille design is more vertical and includes Peugeot’s Lion at its centre.
Powered by Euro 6 compliant petrol 1.6 litre THP 165 with Stop & Start, the six-speed manual gearbox or new EAT6 six-speed automatic gearbox replaces previous gen’s Euro 5 1.6-litre THP 156. The change results in CO2 emission reduction.
For Diesel, BlueHDi tech is available in new Peugeot 508. Thw 2.0-litre BlueHDi 150 6-speed manual CO2 emissions are best in segment at 105g/km for both Saloon and SW estate. New 2.0-litre BlueHDi 180 EAT6 Saloon version is type approved with CO2 emissions of just 111g/km.
New Peugeot 508 showcase couldn’t have been at a more opportune moment. In January 2014, Novak Djokovic was announced Peugeot international ambassador for 3 years. With Wimbledon 2014 beginning on 23rd June, the world’s top seeds and wild card entrants are all in town ready for the big tourney.
As brand ambassador it makes sense that Djoko graced the show. New Peugeot 508 will be showcased in August at Moscow and Chengdu Motor Shows, and then at the Paris Motor Show. Sales in Europe begins in September.
Peugeot 508 was first unveiled at 2010 Paris Motor Show, and began in early 2011. At first available as a saloon or SW estate, Peugeot 508 RXH with HYbrid4 tech was introduced a year later. Built in France and China, about 360,000 Peugeot 508 units have been sold. In 2013, China became the biggest market for Peugeot 508, accounting for 30% of global sales.
