The approval makes available $19 million ‘first come – first served’ incentive funding to Hino Trucks intended to speeden up use of alternative fuel vehicles and diesel emission control devices for medium to heavy duty commercial fleets in NY.
NYT-VIP is working to reduce diesel emissions and promote a more fuel independent New York by promoting advanced vehicle technologies. “New York customers are already seeing the benefits of our 195h diesel electric COE vehicles realizing up to 30% fuel savings over diesel-only products in well matched conditions,” said Glenn Ellis, Hino Trucks Vice President of Marketing. He added, “By utilizing the NYT-VIP, customers can realize an immediate payback on the incremental cost of our hybrid truck, and start to see operational savings on day one!”
