Ola drivers to get Maruti, Hyundai and Tata cars at discounted prices

As a part of the Supreme Court order wherein commercial vehicles will not be allowed to ply in Delhi unless they convert to CNG, Ola Cabs is offering benefits of INR 1 lakh to drivers to make the move economically feasible.

Ola has organized ‘Ola Green Pragati Week’ from August 26 to September 1, 2015 wherein driver partners, financers and auto manufacturers will be brought together. This initiative is to allow drivers in Delhi purchase a new CNG vehicle with benefits of INR 1 lakh which will also include discounts of upto INR 60,000.

Ola has also tied up with leading automakers in India such as Hyundai, Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki. This tie-up will result in Ola drivers getting discounts when buying CNG cars from either of the three manufacturers. This initiative is being offered to drivers both for purchase of new cars or on exchange of their old cars for a new CNG vehicle so that they can continue as driver partners with Ola. The drive is being promoted to ensure a clean and green environment.

Most cars in Delhi on the Ola platform are already running on CNG while in the past week 3,000 additional CNG vehicles were added to the fleet. This initiative comes following the Arvind Kejriwal government moving court against app based taxi aggregators to follow directives after it was found that 80 percent of taxis run on diesel thereby polluting the Delhi air to a large extent.

The ruling stated that all Uber and Ola taxis will have to be run on CNG so as to continue their operations in the Capital. As per court order Ola has also been asked to install GPS in all taxis and get them registered with the government as a part of the safety initiative
