More than 6000 vehicles are being abandoned in Dubai. This figure is up from the 5,487 vehicle which were dumped in 2011. Most of these vehicles are over 20 years old and ready to be scrapped but there are several others that are still in the prime of their youth. This is following a rising number of businessmen and women who have been jailed in Dubai for going into debt. Instead of facing such severe sentences it is better to abandon vehicles while many expats are just leaving and flying home. Ferraris, Audis, Jaguars and Mercedes Benz and the like are being abandoned and the major cause is the financial crisis which is making many people see their finances deplete quicker than expected which is making them head home while leaving their high performance vehicles abandoned.
