Perodua Axia bookings cross 3,500

Perodua dealerships across Malaysia have begun taking orders for the all new Axia and have already recorded 3,500 bookings to date. The latest model from Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd, Perodua Axia could come in at a tentative starting price of RM 24,900 (INR 4,77,764) and is slated to be the company’s most fuel efficient car with mileage of 21.6 kmpl.

Perodua Axia bookings cross 3,500Perodua Axia bookings open on a down payment of RM 250 to RM 300 depending on variant. The new Perodua Asia is being offered in four variants to include Standard E, Standard G, Special Edition and Advance, while it is also presented with a five year warranty.

This next generation Perodua model will be produced at the company’s new manufacturing unit which will stand apart due to various innovations seen at the plant. These will include water based paint formula which is less abrasive as compared to what paints were used earlier while the plant also boasts of a higher level of automation thereby resulting in lower costs.

Out of the 3,500 bookings received to date, base Standard G variant has received 13% of bookings while Standard E made up for 60-70% of bookings with top end variants SE and Advanced seeing the rest of the bookings.

Perodua Axia variantsPerodua interiors will boast of touchscreen multimedia system, USB, Bluetooth and CD with WMA connectivity. Interiors will be seen in with semi bucket leather seats while careful attention will be paid to safety with advanced variants getting ABS, EBD, brake assist, solar and security window film and a minimum of two airbags. ISOFIX child seat anchors and seat belt warning buzzers will be seen on Axia G variants onwards.

The company expects to sell 30,000 units of Axia this year straight after launch in September while monthly targets are set at 10,000 units thereafter.
