Peugeot 3008 SUV launched in China for $25,418

Peugeot has announced the launch of China made 3008 SUV. Peugeot 3008 officially debuted in China on 9th Jan 2013 at the Sichuan’s provincial capital of Chengdu. Peugeot 3008 is priced between 159,700 yuan and 214,700 yuan ($25,418-$34,171).

The Chinese version of Peugeot 3008 is currently being manufactured at the Wuhan plant in the province of Hubei and will be sold under Dongfeng Peugeot Citroën.

Launch of the 3008 has helped expand Peugeot’s range in Chinese markets where the SUV segment is doing very well. The SUV has been restyled by the PSA styling facility in China so as to provide Chinese customers a suitable SUV that meets all their necessities. It will be equipped with either a 1.6THP L4 16V DOHC and a 2.0L CVVT L4 16V DOHC engine capable of producing 120 hp and 108 hp of power respectively. A six speed automatic transmission system and an electrical hydraulic power steering system will be integrated within this model.

Considering China as its indispensable market, Peugeot will be hoping to deliver about 40,000 vehicles by the end of the year to young and dynamic customers opting for a suitable SUV companion. Peugeot launches the 3008 in China and accelerates its growth in the world’s largest car market

Peugeot has officially launched the Chinese version of the 3008, built at the Wuhan plant (a DPCA joint venture in the province of Hubei),during a nationallaunch convention that brought together more than 1200 guests from the press and the dealer network at Chengdu,on 9 January

With the launch of the 3008, Peugeot expands it range by entering a strategic new market,thot of SUVs in the C,which is the fastest growing segment in the Chinese car market.

With this new launch, Peugeot means to continue the Marque’s strong momentum,including in sales,which at 216000 units increased by 24.5% in 2012, nearly four times the growth in the market (+ 7%).

3008 China: a vehicle for conquest to continue the Marque’s strong momentum in the Chinese market.

The Peugeot 3008 has been adapted for China by the PSA st yling centre at Shanghai to bring it closer to the tastes expressed by Chinese customers for SUV vehicles with a strong identity.

By launching the 3008 in China, Peugeot sets off to conquer young, dynamic customers that are looking for a very versatile vehicle with a strong style,both outside and in the treatment of its cabin.

Since its first year of commercialization, Peugeot plans to sell 40,000 units of 3008, in order to respond to the continuous growing needs the SUV market and will in turn benefit the results of the dealer network, which itself is undergoing strong development (324 dealers at the end of 2012).

Ambitious objectives in China for the period 2013-2015

The launch convention for the 3008 in China was also the opportunity for Dong Feng Peugeot to announce its objectives for the next 3 years: the Marque is planning strong expansion,supported by an ambitious product plan that will see the launch of 6 models between 2013 and 2015.
