French automakers, Peugeot will be showcasing their new three wheeler called Onyx Supertrike at the upcoming Paris Motor Show. This vehicle borrows its inspiration from the 680 hp Onyx Hybrid Supercar Concept, a diesel electric offering with a V8 diesel hybrid powertrain.

Auto enthusiasts will be aware of Peugeots long history where motorcycle segment is concerned. The company introduced its first two wheelers in 1800s and has about 14 models including scooters, multi geared bikes and mopeds to its name all in a category of 50 cc to 500 cc. The Onyx Scooter will resemble the Onyx Supercar where exterior colors or contrasting lines are concerned.

Onyx Scooter will be available in two configurations – Sport Mode and Urban Mode. Engine options will include a plug-in hybrid powertrain with a combination of a 400 cc internal combustion engine coupled with an electric motor. Output is expected in the range of 45 kW or 60Hp while torque is slated for 58 Nm and maximum speed at 150 kmph. All said and done but it still has to be seen whether the Onyx Scooter remains in Concept stage or does go on to be produced.
