Piaggio Vespa Elegante exclusive scooter for India launch soon
Italian automaker, Piaggio is all set to introduce a premium scooter in India called the Vespa Elegante. Due for a launch just ahead of the festive season, the new Elegante will be added to Vespa’s current models which include the Vespa LX 125, Vespa VX 125 and the Vespa S which has been recently introduced.
Vespa Elegante will be based on Vespa VX 125 and will be seen with a distinctive style and exclusive features, very similar to Vespa Primavera (seen in the images above and below). Boasting of a triangular grille, rounded headlights and retro split seats, the Vespa Elegante will be powered by a 125cc engine, the same which is seen on other Vespa in this range. This engine is capable of 10 bhp peak power and 10.6 Nm peak torque.
True to tradition, Vespa will be offering its exclusive customers the opportunity to customize their Vespa Elegante scooters to stand apart and suit their elite tastes. These options will include front disc brakes, and tubeless tyres.
Not competing with Honda, Hero MotoCorp and Suzuki who are keen to capture market share, Vespa stands apart, catering to a niche segment of buyers in the country. They recently introduced a Esclusivo edition, of which only 1,000 units are on offer.
