Following success with first phase of Vespa launch with its single scooter model in the country, Vespa LX, the company is poised for its second phase of expansion with an even more premium range. To date, 52,000 units of Vespa LX have been sold and the company is sure that Indian buyers are ready to welcome in the new VX 125cc despite its higher price tag.
Concentrating on capturing a niche segment of two wheeler buyers in the country, Vespa VX 125cc possesses a host of premium features which include front disc brake and seamless tyres. It is fitted with a four stroke, three valve single cylinder engine offering 10.06 PS at 7,500 rpm and 10.6 Nm torque at 6,000 rpm. The new VX 125cc comes in with exciting color options such as Portovenere Verde (metallic green) and Vibrante Rosa (dual tone red and pink) while the Italian two wheeler makers have discontinued the black and maroon shades from their Vespa scooter range due to dip in demand. The Vespa is well loved, and the easy to recognize bike has featured in over 2000 films. the star studded launch in Pune saw Siddharth Malhotra, and Vanya take centre stage.
