Automotive News Europe has conferred the award of Eurostar 2012 on Matthias Müller, President and CEO of Porsche. The award was given in the car Division CEO category at the Paris Motor Show 2012. This award recognizes Müller’s contribution to ensure that the company continues to achieve record sales and revenue. For the month of September 2012, Porsche car sales were up by 26%, compared to September 2011 sales figures. Last month, Porsche sold 2,763 cars compared to 2,170 cars sold in the same month last year.

Muller is also instrumental in broadening the Porsche model range and integrating the same into the Volkswagen Group. Müller (51) was delighted at receiving this award and dedicated the award to the entire Porsche workforce as he stated that it was only due to their dedication and hard work that he was able to achieve this success.

Porsche 2012 Panamera Sport Turismo Concept is on display at the Paris Motor Show and is ready to be released into Porsche dealer showrooms by end of this year where it will compete with the likes of Mercedes Benz CLS Shooting Brake and Jaguar XF Sports Brake. It has a sporty exterior and elegant interiors while it is fitted with a plug in hybrid power train that combines 333 hp supercharged 3.0 liter V6 engine, a 95 Hp electric motor and a 9.4 kWh lithium ion battery giving 416 hp output and acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in 6 seconds.

Porsche Reports September Sales up 26 Percent Over 2011

YTD sales increase of 10.37 percent

Atlanta – October 2, 2012 – Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche sports cars, Cayenne SUVs and the Panamera four-door sports sedan line-up in the United States, today announced September 2012 sales of 2,736 vehicles. This compares to 2,170 vehicles sold last September, for an increase of 26.08 percent. For the year, Porsche has sold 25,015 cars in the U.S., a 10.37 percent increase over last September’s year-to-date sales of 22,664.

Sales of the Porsche Cayenne sport utility increased 47.3 percent for the month versus last September and the Panamera sport sedan was up 17.9 percent over the same period.

The Cayenne Diesel, which provides 406 lb.-ft of torque and a range of up to 765 miles on a tank of fuel, accounted for nearly 20 percent of Cayenne sales in September.

Porsche Approved Certified Pre-Owned vehicle sales were 871 for September 2012, a 22 percent increase over September 2011. Year-to-date, Porsche has sold 7,370 CPO models, an 11.7 percent increase versus 2011.

With this award the magazine’s editorial team honoured Müller’s dedication to put the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer onto the path of growth and achieve record figures in both sales and revenue. The broadening of the model range and the integration into the Volkswagen Group had, they said, also been superbly achieved under Matthias Müller’s leadership.
