Porsche recalls Panamera and Cayenne 2011-12 models over faulty turbochargers
Porsche Panamera and Cayenne are expensive cars, but a high price still does not protect the owner from recalls or the car from certain manufacturing…
The company has filed their recall notice with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and recalls are expected to commence from the end of this month. These recalls are being effected due to certain discrepancies and defects noticed in the turbine wheel of the turbocharger which may lead to fracture.
Under these circumstances oil will be injected into the exhaust system which will lead to smoking and threat of fire. Though the company has not received any reports of accident or injury due to this situation, the company has taken a decision to recall a total of 270 such vehicles while dealers have been informed to ensure replacement of turbine wheels free of charge. Owners of such models are requested to contact Porsche at 800-767-7243.
