Land Rover has recalled its Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover LR2 model citing brake problems which need to be addressed for optimum driving conditions. These 2012 models will be recalled to sort out an issue which relates to braking calipers attached to the wheels of these vehicles. About 70 models are affected with this problem.
The process for rectifying faults associated with these vehicles will commence before or from 18th January 2013. Due to insufficiently brake caliper bolts, the brake caliper itself will detach which may lead to loss of brake function or in extreme cases may result in deflation of tyre if the bolt strikes a wheel.
These scenarios are cause for concern as they could escalate and result in accidents and loss of life. During remedial process, these bolts will be inspected and tighten by experienced teams of mechanics for free at dealer outlets. Owners of these models can refer to www.safercar.gov for more details regarding the same.
