Renault Clio RS4 given a sportier stance ahead of 2014 motor racing season

Renault Clio RS4 recently made its entrance at the 2012 Paris Motor Show wherein it was seen being readied as a race model for the 2014 motor racing season. The French manufactures offer the new Clio RS as a five door model while various other updates are seen under its hood. A new 2.0 liter inline four engine with six speed manual gearbox while 1.6 liter turbocharged petrol will also be available mated to a six speed transmission.

The 1.6 liter engine offers 197 hp at 6000 rpm and 240 Nm torque at 1750 rpm. No acceleration figures or maximum speeds have been announced as on date but the new Clio RS does offer extra fuel efficiency as compared to the Clio III RS.

Sporty features such as stiffer suspension and lower ground clearance add to its sportiness while a unique grille, front and rear end bumpers, LED daytime lights, 17” alloy wheels and 18” rims are available. The existing car will participate in the British championships through 2013 while a new turbocharged Clio Cup car will be introduced for the following season.
