Renault Duster India launch in July 2012 after UAE gets SUV in May: 2011 Car of the Year, Autobest 2011, Golden Steering Wheel and more

Ever since Renault Duster was unveiled at Al Bustan Palace, Oman at the beginning of May this year it has been receiving tremendous response. Renault GCC is a versatile vehicle which was launched both in 4×2 and 4×4 versions. It possesses a K9K dCi engine which powers both variants and offers 108 PS power. The GCC had been put through a battery of tests prior to launch and conformed to all conditions and requirements. The vehicle has found it’s way into Abu Dhabi too. Renault Duster for the Indian SUV market was showcased at this year’s Delhi Auto Expo, and as it stands now, is the most awaited car launch in India in the next few weeks.

It is ideally suited for ruthless road and climatic conditions seen in a country like Oman and though it is receiving tremendous response, Indian buyers are only likely to see availability of this strapping vehicle by July 2012 where it will be introduced for a starting price of Rs.8.5 lakhs upwards offering stiff competition to other rivals Tata Safari, Mahindra Scorpio,  and much awaited Ford EcoSport.

Renault Duster received a host of awards at World Trade Press which included the 2011 4×4 of the Year in France and Argentina, 2011 Car of the Year in Croatia and Russia, Autobest 2011 in Germany and Golden Steering Wheel award in Romania. This SUV is a powerful, safe and comfortable vehicle with ample ground clearance making it comfortable both in on and off road conditions. It has a long 2.67 meter wheelbase and 16” alloy wheels. Driver is offered a high up seating position giving him better visibility of road and the existence of enhanced safety features such as ABS and front and side air bags add to the Duster charm making it an obvious choice for.
