Renault Duster SUV amongst the least depreciating new cars
Renault Duster SUV has been in the good books ever since its launch, be it Brazil, India or the UK. Sweeping awards globally, rewriting record books, and becoming the most affordable 4×4. The latest on the Duster is that it is now amongst the the least depreciating new cars in the UK.
While sales, customer satisfaction, performance and price form a major concern where new vehicles are concerned, depreciation is also a major factor to be taken into account. The Dacia Duster, as it is sold in the UK, this India-made SUV, is UK’s most affordable 4×4.
Duster managed to garner 1,700 bookings, even before customers were allowed a test drive at dealers in the UK. It is now revealed that the Duster SUV is also amongst the least depreciating new cars in the UK. Priced a little under £9,000 (INR 7.61 lakhs), the entry level Access trim is expected to retain 34% of its value after a three year / 60,000 miles (96,560 kms) period while the Duster Laureate dCi 110 4×2 model priced at £12,940 will lose £8,540 of its value over the same period. Usually, cars in the same class are averaging losses of over £12,000.
On the news, Phil York, Marketing Director, Dacia UK, said, “We know that the Dacia Duster is a great package for anyone after a practical, reliable and affordable SUV. CAP’s view just reaffirms our belief that its got bucketloads of appeal for British buyers. After living with one, I doubt most owners will ever want to be parted from their trusty Duster. But, if they do have to sell it, or maybe even trade it in for a newer Dacia, they won’t be hugely out of pocket. I can’t help but think the residual value forecast for Sandero is going to blow the competition away too, in the not too distant future.”
