Renault Duster pick-up prototype looks ready for production
Renault’s low-cost brand, Dacia is currently working on a new Duster Pick up, which was recently spotted on test in Romania. New Dacia Duster SUV is based on the pre-facelift Duster.
The new Dacia Duster bears all attributes of an ideal off roader. Duster Dacia Pick-up on test is a single cab with two seats, thus displaying efficient and more enhanced loading area. It comprises of a bed of 1.7 meters in length and can carry loads upto 400 kgs. While engine details are not yet revealed, it has been ascertained that it could receive a 1.5 liter K9K diesel engine while being mated to a six speed manual gearbox.
Renault too is involved in this project, but in a limited capacity via their Technology Center in Romania. All they have provided to the coach-builder is technical support in order to develop the Duster pick-up. It is not yet clear, whether Renault/Dacia will enter this prototype in production or not, but as of now, it seems to be a worthy successor the the Logan pick-up.
