Renault Duster SUV July 2012 launch for Indian auto market: Compact utility vehicle yet big car

Renault Duster is poised for an Indian auto market entry in early July, i.e., this week. The SUV when launched will pave the way for further models to be ushered in, in time for the festive season in the country. This is the one time when buyers throng auto showrooms and companies are banking on the upcoming months when they can make good their losses.

The Renault Duster SUV launch will see multiple variants, i.e., base variant will be 1.6 liter petrol engined while 1.5 liter diesel engine will be same that is seen on the Renault Fluence. Diesel engine will be available in two tune levels – an 84 bhp version and 108.5 bhp variant. Official launch dates are scheduled for July 4th and the Indian bound Duster was earlier seen at the Delhi Auto Show in January this year. Renault Duster will be priced in a range of Rs.7.2 lakhs all the way up to Rs.12 lakhs and will be launched across Renault dealerships in India.

Initial inspection of Renault Duster will immediately draw viewer’s attention to its large countenance that measures 4.3 meters in length. It possesses flared wheel arches and scuff plates while its metal roof rails give it a smart appearance amongst other features, making Duster a loaded SUV in this price range. Expecting a booking frenzy, production capacity is being increased.
