The current Renault Koleos is going great guns, but talks are on for a replacement. Renault engineers have thus created a new test mule which was recently spotted on test on European roads by CarScoop.
This test mule from Renault, based on a Grand Scenic body is seen with wider tracks and fender flares which mean that end result will be a wider and larger vehicle. Extra weights will need to be added to roof and front fenders for balance and additional stability. Its updated chassis is likely to be shared with the next gen Nissan Qashqai. This new SUV by Renault will replace the Koleos, which is currently being assembled in Busan, South Korea; Chennai, India and Moscow, Russia.
Once the new Renault SUV is ready for the market, it is likely to compete with Volkswagen Tiguan and Ford Kuga. The new SUV is likely to be on show at this year’s Geneva Salon in March or at the Frankfurt Motor Show this fall.
