Despite a late entry in the Indian auto market, the company managed to sell 1,500 cars during 2011 and want to increase that figure 20 times by the end of this year. Renualt’s attempts to enter into an alliance with Mahindra and Mahindra during 2010 failed leaving the Logan sedan almost in the lurch and since then Renault has been tackling the Indian auto sector on their own.
Renault Fluence diesel is currently doing well in the Indian market as is Renault Koleos SUV and Pulse, the premium compact vehicle. Besides these, Renault has plans of launching two more cars during the current year as part of their 5 car launch in a 15 month period.
