 Manipuri boy latest road rage victim in Delhi

Akha Salouni, 29 from Manipur was the latest victim of road rage on Delhi streets on Monday early morning. Five persons in a car brutally assaulted three pedestrians, thereby killing one of them in the Kotla Mubarakpur area. The incident has been captured on CCTV and three youths have been arrested for murder.

 Manipuri boy latest road rage victim in DelhiAkha Salouni (above) along with two of his friends was returning home after a party at 1.45 am when a rashly driven Hyundai Verna brushed against one of them. The youths in the car hurled abuses due to which a fight ensued. One of the men wrapped a cloth around Salouni’s neck and swung him in the air while the others showered him with blows and kicks. The other friends of Salouni, Nagendra Sharma from Bihar and Dihe Kazhiirii from Manipur called up the cops who rushed Salouni to the AIIMS Trauma Center where he was declared dead on arrival.

On initial inquiry, the case seemed to be blind as the friends of Salouni could not give any description of the assailants. However on inspection of CCTV cameras installed in the area, three of the assailants had been nabbed by Monday noon and were identified as Shakti Basoya, 21, his cousin Sanjay Basoya, 24 and Rajiv, 25 all from Garhi village. The cops are still on the lookout for Lokesh and Azad, the two other occupants of the Verna who may have fled to Haryana.

A case has been registered, the Verna has been identified and investigations are on while later in the day Kiran Rijjiu, MoS Home met the victim’s sister promising assistance and assurance of a thorough probe in the case.
