Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500 – The Ultimate Highway Cruiser India launch on 11th October

Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500 is set to enter Indian markets while pricing is expected to be higher than that of every other motor Royal Enfield bike in the country. Thunderbird 500 made its presence felt at the Indian Auto Show 2012 and since then biking enthusiasts have been eagerly awaiting launch of this superbike and a look at its features, performance and robust engine is what has made this wait of over 10 months worth the while.

Thunderbird 500 will possess a twin spark single cylinder engine displacing 499cc. Its engine is air cooled and offers 27.2 bhp power and what endears it more to any bike lover is the fact that it possesses 41.3Nm torque which is the maximum generated by any other motorcycle produced in India. Its engine is mated to a five speed manual gearbox. The upcoming model will possess new designed mirrors, an LED tail lamp, redesigned front end with 41mm thick forks, instrument panel with two digit trip meters and the inclusion of hazard lamps in the switch gear.

All this shows that highest pricing apart, the new Thunderbird 500 will also be the most technologically advanced bike in India. Rumor has it that expected pricing is Rs.1,35,000 which will be confirmed once the bike is launched on 11th October 2012.
