Scania launches trucks for trial runs in India

Volkswagen owned, Scania AB, world’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, has been instrumental in offering world class transport solutions to the commercial auto market. The company has launched a range of road trucks for a trial run in the country. Scania offers their products and services in the form of P- 360 4×2, P 410 6×2, R500 6×4 and G460 6×4 to Indian markets and has been the result of extensive research as the company offers these products through lower total cost of ownership.

Being offered in the on road haulage segment, these Scania truck models provide reliable and fuel efficient transport solutions which are also low in auto emissions thereby causing lesser impact on the environment. These trucks will cater to growing needs of transportation of long haul materials such as steel, chemicals, bulk transportation and over dimensional cargo transportation.

Earlier this year it was announced that Swedish truck majors, Scania AB would be investing Rs.250 crores in setting up an assembly plant for trucks and buses in Bangalore. These trucks will be rolled out by early 2013 and the assembly plant will employ 800 persons over a period of five years. The assembled Scania trucks will be positioned in the premium market segment competing with Volvo AB trucks and Mercedes Benz Actros.
