Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia Rally Sweden Volkswagen Polo R WRC win

The Volkswagen team comprising of Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia got off to an impressive start at the Volkswagen Polo R for Rally Sweden by clocking the fastest time of 1:51.30 minutes. Finland based team comprising Jari-Matti Latvala and Miikka Anttila was 2.7 seconds behind the duo and came in at sixth place. Good timings in the qualifying round will enable these teams to be sure of prime positions during rally.

Rally Sweden is an iconic setup where World rally cars will be seen fighting out face to face in tough conditions featuring snowy terrain and sleet covered patches. The event was heralded off to a start on Thursday which saw teams taking part in a special spectator stage in Karlstad. Classic ‘Sweden’ stages which include the ‘Vargåsen’ are a highlight for Friday. Drivers will be high on adrenalin when completing the ‘Colins Crest’ stage which will see cars jumping over 40 meters into the air as they pass this infamous obstacle.

Rally Sweden tests the mettle of these teams over 22 stages that are situated in Sweden and Norway. Viewers will be in for a treat as the entire rally featuring cars drifting at over 150 kmph on snow will be telecast throughout the globe. At the end of the 3 days, Ogier and Ingrassia secured Volkswagen’s maiden victory securing the Power Stage win. The duo now lead the 2013 FIA drivers’ championship.
