SIAT 2015 organised by ARAI, SAE India and NATRiP

Being held at ARAI Campus on Vetal Hill, Pune from January 21st – 24th, Symposium on International Automotive Technology 2015 (SIAT 2015) will concentrate on introduction of safer, cleaner and quieter vehicles while the prime focus will be on innovative advancement in automotive technologies. SIAT 2015 will see participation from both national and international experts in the field of automotive technology who will share their experiences. SIAT 2015 with the theme, ‘Safer, Cleaner and Quieter World’ is pegged as a ‘Design in India’ platform in continuation of the ‘Make in India’ campaign.

Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), and M. C. Dathan, Director, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre will be in attendance as Chief guest and Guest of Honour on 23rd January.

Earlier today, Anan Geete, Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, inaugurated SIAT 2015 in teh company of Vinod K. Dasari, Managing Director, Ashok Leyland and President, ARAI and Rajan Wadhera, Vice President, ARAI and Chief Executive Technology, Product Development and Sourcing, and Member of the Group Executive Board, Mahindra.

SIAT 2015 symposium will see over 1500 delegates from 25 countries presenting 215 research papers. A panel discussion on ‘International Mobility beyond Boundaries’ will see participation of leading global vehicle manufacturers draw attention to production of safer and more environmentally friendly roadworthy vehicles. Besides leading automakers, SIAT 2015 will also see automotive OEMs along with suppliers and tool and service providers in attendance while the symposium is open to citizens, college students and industry professionals who can visit and learn more about developments in the field of automotive technology.

Rashmi Urdhwareshe, Director, ARAI says ARAI plays a key role in assuring safe, less polluting and more efficient vehicles here by working closely with government and industry to make automobiles efficient and safe. SIAT serves as an important forum for the automotive industry. SIAT 2015 is focused on emissions and safety.
