Silk Trail 2013 expedition to India to test Range Rover Hybrid capabilities
Range Rover Hybrid is on a 9,950 mile (16,000km) expedition of which 1,885 miles (3,034km) are now covered. The journey set off from Solihull, UK on August 22 and travels 7 weeks through Europe, Russia and Asia to reach Mumbai, India on October 15th.
It borrowed its name from Chinese silk trade. Silk Trail 2013 expedition certainly tests Range Rover Hybrid capabilities over long and varied terrains.
Silk Trail expedition is divided into 10 stages. Scheduled visits include stops in France, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Ukraine, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Nepal and India. Land Rover development engineer teams, and specially invited media from 10 countries in Europe and other nations along the route are driving the Range Rover Hybrids.
Monday 26th August saw the expedition stop at Berlin, Germany after completion of 833 miles (1,340km). The 1,094 mile (1,760km) Stage 2 drive to Cracow (Poland) and Odessa (Ukraine) began on Wednesday 28th August.
