European customers will have only a month to wait for the new five door Rapid, which is expected to be launched in European markets by end of September 2012. The vehicle was earlier seen at 2011 Geneva Motor Show as a Vision D concept but company sources confirm that Rapid based hatchback will not be an exact copy. It is also confirmed that it will be released as a five door model and not a three door as this is what European customers demand.

Space will come at a premium in the new Skoda Rapid. Room in cabin and even more room in boot will be an added advantage. The new powertrains that will be added with be petrol 1.2L MPI (75 hp), 1.2L(86 hp) TSI, 1.2L(105 hp) TSI and 1.4L(122 hp) TSI and diesel engines 1.6L TDI (90 hp) and 1.6L TDI(105 hp).

The company is specially targeting family oriented customers with this model specially considering space and price factors. The new Skoda Rapid will comfortable accommodate upto five adults and with its boot space of 550 liters will make it a suitable traveling companion. Europe launch is scheduled for September while Indian buyers still have a few months wait ahead.
