Madan Mitra, Minister for Transport and Sports in West Bengal formally launched the new Ambassador Encore in Calcutta this week. Hindustan Motors has also added features to the Encore, which include parking brake so as to ensure safe parking of the vehicle though they have failed to add features such as common rail injection system which would have added to fuel efficiency.
A turbocharger and intercooler allows the car to meet the stringent BS IV emission norms. The diesel engine is capable of 50 bhp power and 112.5 Nm torque which is a major improvement from what power and torque figures were seen on the 1.5 liter OHV diesel engine.
“Hindustan Motors is proud to be part of the felicitation ceremony of Ms. Asha Roy who has brought honour and joy to the country and West Bengal, overcoming adverse circumstances since her childhood. HM’s involvement reflects its abiding commitment to the state government’s pro-people policies and the community,” Mr. Uttam Bose stated.
