This time it's Talegaon where the Chevrolet Beat was spotted being tested. Alongside, the car is being tested on other roads in India too. Initial chatter suggests the car comes with a typical diesel sound, along with the inimitable 3- cylinder rambling.

The diesel Chevrolet Beat seems to be using a similar body, including transparent taillight lens that have been put to use when testing the Beat petrol cars earlier. The only real difference would be the new drivetrain that would be used. As of now it seems everything's similar to the petrol Beat, except that this one is a diesel wonder. The car has already been successful in India, and the company is probably only trying to keep up to the hype.
The diesel Chevrolet Beat will be powered by a 3-cylinder, 0.9-liter engine (based on the 1.3-liter Multijet power plant from FIAT). Engines for testing are being acquired from FIAT Powertrain Technologies, India. Mass production for cars to be sold will occur at the company's proposed Chakan plant. The diesel Beat is likely to cost about Rs. 30,000 more than petrol variants.
