Spyker B6 Venator Concept revealed as rival to Porsche 911: 2013 Geneva
Spyker B6 Venator Concept has been revealed at the Geneva Motor Show 2013. This is a compact, 2 door, mid engined sports car displaying highest standards where design, performance and exclusivity is concerned.
Venator means ‘Hunter’ in Latin and seems as an apt name for this sporty and high performance sports car.
Venator measures 4,347mm in length, 1,882 mm in width and sits on a 2,500mm wheelbase. Body of carbon fiber and an all aluminum platform results in low overall body weight which is less than 1,400 kgs. The Venator possesses a rear mid mounted V6 engine offering 375bhp mated to a six speed automatic gearbox. Production is scheduled for early 2014 while the company is expected to target markets such as Europe, Middle East, Asia Pacific and India with US markets receiving the Venator in autumn of 2014.
Venator is designed by Victor R Muller, CEO of Spyker N.V. The concept at Geneva Motor Show bears resemblance to Spyker tradition with greater emphasis on design, bespoke material and aviation inspired elements. It shares the platform at the Geneva Motor Show with Spyker C8 Aileron which is seen in a design that is modified from propeller to turbine.
