SsangYong Motors 27.1% sales increase in August 2013
SsangYong Motors, a unit of India sports utility vehicle makers Mahindra & Mahindra have announced their sales results for the month of August 2013. During the month the company reported a 27.1% increase in sales as compared to the same month a year earlier.
The first eight months of this year has seen cumulative sales increase 23.9% to 93,606 units. It was the Korando C facelift that accounted for maximum sales. Since launch, this new model has seen cumulative bookings to the tune of 4,000 units while the company is striving to ensure that there are no delays in deliveries where these units are concerned.
Exports grew by 18.8% s compared to those experienced in August 2012 especially due to increased sales in Russian markets. The company is making all efforts to return to the two shift work system at the company’s SUV plant so as to align supply with demand.
