SsangYong Motors net profit increase for 2013 Q2
SsangYong Motors of the Mahindra Group has reported an increase in sales and revenue. The period January to June 2013 saw the company sales volume and revenue increase by over 22% as compared to the same period in the last year. 29,286 units were sold in the Korean markets while 40,174 units were exported taking total sales to 69,460 units during the January to June 2013 period.
The company now endeavors to continue its efforts to improve its product line and introduce new models which include the New Korando C by the latter half of this year. Increased sales were also reported where the Korando Turismo and other brands in the Korando family were concerned which resulted in growth of over 34% in Korean markets.
The automaker was the only Korean company to record growth despite a sluggish domestic auto market from Jan-June. A two-shift system has been introduced at the Korean plant in May to ensure stable SUV production. Wage negotiations on July 25th were cncluded wihout incident.
