SsangYong SIV-1 Concept looks like a future car: 2013 Geneva
Mahindra owned, SsangYong Motor Company, the fourth largest South Korean based automobile manufacturer, has brought with it the new SIV-1 concept to the Geneva Motor Show 2013. Atleast for now, it looks like a worthy EcoSport rival.
SsangYong SIV-1 Concept is a midsized premium crossover utility vehicle. SIV stands for Smart Interface Vehicle.
The SIV-1 Concept is seen here being offered in a choice of two engine options. One will be a 1.6 liter turbocharged petrol engine offering 202 hp and 280 Nm torque, while its diesel counterpart will be a 1.6 liter offering 148 hp and 360 Nm torque. Both these engines are mated to either a 6 speed manual or dual clutch transmission. The vehicle itself sits on a 2,700 mm wheelbase and measures 4,500 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width and stands 1,640 mm tall.
SIV-1 Concept is a corollary to the SsangYong XIV-1 concept which was revealed at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. The SIV-1 Concept also depicts the company’s new design philosophy Nature Born 3 Motion which was also seen in the XIV earlier. Images here are credit to CarScoops.
