Suzuki Gixxer 155 LED headlight, front detailed – New spy shots

Suzuki Gixxer 250

At the time of launching Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, the company revealed that a street fighter variant is also on the anvil. Though it wasn’t mentioned officially, it is no secret that the new quarter litre naked motorcycle will be accompanied by a heavily updated version of Gixxer 155.

Well, we don’t need to speculate any more as images of 2019 Suzuki Gixxer 155 with updated design have surfaced online. As expected, the naked Gixxer 155 receives a new LED headlamp which, with its silver frame, certainly looks better than the outgoing model’s halogen unit.

Not surprisingly, rest of the design is identical to that of its fully faired sibling. The tailpiece receives stepped seats, body-colored split grab rails, and new LED taillights. It also gets Gixxer SF’s restyled twin-orifice exhaust canister. The only visual difference comes from the color of center panel which is finished in silver in case of the street fighter (black in SF 155).

2019 Suzuki Gixxer 155 will receive updated digital instrument console and standard single-channel ABS (rear disc brake is also likely to be a standard fitment). While the current model is available in both carbureted and fuel injected avatars, only the latter would be offered henceforth.

The tweaked 154.9 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine is slightly detuned to produce 14.1 PS but it continues to dish out 14 Nm of torque as before. Transmission continues to be a 5-speed unit.

To recap, Suzuki Gixxer 155 is equipped with regular telescopic front forks, rear monoshock, 17-inch black alloy wheels, and 100/80R – 17 front and 40/60R – 17 rear tyres. Fuel tank capacity stands at 12 litres while the kerb weight of the new model is estimated to be around 140 kg (faired version weighs 146 kg).

New Suzuki Gixxer SF 155 is priced at INR 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). We expect the street fighter to be priced a little under INR 1 lakh. The motorcycle will compete with the likes of Yamaha FZ-S V2.0, Bajaj Pulsar NS 160, TVS Apache RTR 160, Honda CB Hornet 160 R, Hero Xtreme Sports and so on.

Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 is also expected to receive an identical design albeit with different color themes. The twins are expected to be launched in time for the festive season.
