New Suzuki Swift Style in Japan – new show, same go

Suzuki has launched new Swift Style in Japan with a load of cosmetic changes and new features. The hot hatchback retains the same integral mechanical components, the new Swift is not swifter than the regular ones.

Suzuki-Swift-Style-Japan-06Upon first impression, you will notice the chrome coated horizontal front grille made of twin slats, new 16 inch alloy wheels with polished outside surface and blackened spoke walls, blacked out door pillars, sporty rooftop-body colour theme (black on yellow Swift, white on black and blue Swift), LED turn indicators integrated into ORVMs and ‘STYLE’ badge on hatch door.

Suzuki-Swift-Style-Japan-05Inside the Swift Style, Suzuki has offered new seat upholstery with white pipelining, side pockets on driver’s and shotgun’s seats, door trim skin, embellishments on instrument console and door panels, leather cover wrapped on steering wheel, silver-esque stitching decor on steering wheel and gear knob, new arm rest for driver.

Suzuki-Swift-Style-Japan-03New Suzuki Swift Style comes equipped with premium UV cut glass, ORVMs with electronic control, 1 step reclining seat, heated front seats, automatic headlights, front fog lamps with LED illumination lamps, 7-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and cruise control system.

Suzuki-Swift-Style-Japan-02Engine spec remains the same, with 1,242cc K12B engine with (VVT) 16 valves and DOHC. Maximum power produced is 92.5 PS at 6,000 rpm and 118 Nm peak torque at 4,800 rpm. Global Suzuki Swift petrol comes in 2WD and 4WD options. Two wheel drive trim gets 5 speed manual and 4 speed automatic transmission options. Four wheel drive version of Swift petrol gets only 5 speed manual gearbox.

Suzuki-Swift-Style-Japan-04Diesel variant comes with D13A 1.3-litre DDiS engine also with 16 valves and DOHC. Top power produced is 74 PS at 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm peak torque at 1,750 rpm. Diesel model gets only 2WD and 5 speed manual transmission only.
