DSK Motowheels is planning to invest Rs. 400 crore to establish a new manufacturing plant near the current one, on the outskirts of Pune.
In a big week of sorts DSK Group makes headway into diverse business interests to strengthen its prowess in India, with Pune being an important hub for the Group. DSK Motowheels introduced Benelli superbikes in India last week, and held its 10 day national level DSK Cup â€“ Invitational Football Tournament â€“ All India 2014.
DSK MotoWheels – Benelli have announced their partnership and revealed plans for India. Benelli, one of the oldest Italian motorcycle manufacturers, which was once manufacturing shotguns, will launch entire lineup of bikes in India.
With no official confirmation from either party involved, there is speculation that DSK Motowheels will be instrumental in the introduction of Italy’s one of the oldest motorcycle manufacturer – Benelli Motorcycles to India.
DSK Motowheels have entered into a three year contract with Motul, who will hence forth act as their official lubricant partners for the Hyosung branded bikes being sold by the company in India. DSK Motowheels assembles, markets and sells Hyosung bikes in India, a responsibility that was initially the forte of Garware motors, before DSK took over in June 2012.
Part of Korea’s S&T Group (Science and Technology) since 2007, Hyosung bikes are available in India via DSK Motowheels, part of Rs 5,000 crore DSK Group. With a five product line-up available in the range of Rs 2.76 lakh to Rs 6.12 lakh, DSK Motowheels have opened their all new showroom in Kolhapur.
The tie up between DSK Motowheels and Hyosung turned a year old this May. DSK Hyosung entered into a partnership and has already seen sales of 1256 units in 10 months of commencing sales in the superbike segment in August 2012.
Launch price Rs 4.79 lakhs and Rs 4.99 lakhs for Hyosung GT650R and Aquila Pro650 respectively. Hyosung GT650R has been cosmetically enhanced to give it a visible distinction from the GT250R.
