Former CEO of Ford Motor Company, Alan Mulally who retired from this position on July 1, 2014 has joined Google’s board as of July 9, 2014. It was earlier rumored that Mulally would be joining Microsoft but instead he has become the 11th member of Google board.
This year, on June 5, 2014, World Environment Day, Fiat India will be offering free PUC checkups at their 79 Fiat centers across 64 cities. This green initiative undertaken by FIAT Group Automobiles India Pvt. Ltd (FGAIPL) will include free PUC checks. This endeavor is part of the company strategy to reach out to all Fiat customers in India and to draw attention to the company’s commitment to preserving the environment.
Ford’s green initiatives see the automaker recycles used cotton from blue jeans and T-shirts to make hood, dash and floor carpet insulators and interior padding.The move strengthens Ford’s commitment to build quality vehicles for a sustainable future emphasises on environmentally sound manufacturing at its plants.
Ford is making a contribution for £322,000 for a new University Technical College. This is for students aged 14-19 studying engineering and design. East London University Technical College, ELUTEC foundation was laid at the site today, and is located on the Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence (CEME) campus in Rainham, Essex.
