American car maker, Ford is experiencing a phase which it had never experienced before in it’s almost 2 decades in India. Ever since the company has launched the EcoSport compact SUV, their sales have only increased. The SUV has been such a success, that even 4 months after it’s launch, the waiting period is at 6-9 months on select models.

Ford India has recorded highest ever sales during the month of September. Both domestic sales and exports increased substantially by 51%, despite various economic constraints causing upheavals in the auto sector.
With Ford India launching EcoSport at the end of June, they certainly turned around their fortunes here. By mid July, in 17 days of launch, Ford confirmed 30,000 bookings. Of course, delivery has been an issue while Ford has been working diligently in trying to cope with demand.
Ford EcoSport is being showcased at the 21st Indonesia International Motor Show being held from 19-29th September 2013. Set to make its way into Indonesian markets, the Ford EcoSport is reported to be rolled out from Fordâ€™s Rayong plant in Thailand while the companyâ€™s Chennai plant will serve as a major export hub for other global markets.
In July 2013, Ford EcoSport was mentioned the most number of times online in India in the SUV category. The other popular SUV mentions were made for Tata Aria and Renault Duster. Ford Endeavour, Honda CR-V, Chevrolet Captiva ranked foremost as most vibrant nameplates.
