Cochin, Kerala: Ford India hasÂ inaugurated its first Automotive Student Service Educational Training (ASSET) Centre in collaboration with Social Welfare Technical School, ITI Cochin to help trainÂ talented and skilled professionals for the automobile industry.
Ford India reports sales of 13,742 units in combined domestic wholesales and exports for September 2014. This compared to 14,217 vehicles sold in Sept ’13, is a decline by about 4%.
Ford has announced plans to introduce a new generation Figo hatchback and sedan in India by 2015. These new cars will be replacing the existing Figo hatchback and Classic sedan in the country.
Delhi: Ford Figo’s new look comprises of enhanced exteriors and interiors. Smoky Stealth finish exterior styling elements span 14″ alloy wheels, fog lamp bezels, and rear bumper valance. A sleek-looking chrome Signature fender badge and turn indicators on power mirrors are also included.
Ford Motor Co plans to launch four new cars in India over the next 18-20 months. This has been confirmed by Nigel Harris, President of the company in a recent interview with Reuters, though further details of these upcoming models were not divulged.
Ford India last week announced its Happy School program in 21 schools in Chennai as part of its CSR. Happy Schools intends to improve access primary school holistic education by addressing academic support, health, nutrition and infrastructure shortcomings.

Ford India August 2014 sales stand at 14,092 vehicles (domestic wholesales + exports) equating to 27% sales increase over 11,065 vehicles sold in Aug ’13. Exports last month stood at 7,291 vehicles over 3,057 vehicles a year ago.
