Maruti Suzuki is the most profit making, while General Motors is the highest loss making car company in India
Maruti Suzuki India is not only the largest car maker by volumes, but it is also the most profitable car company in India.
General Motors India has sold 4,413 Chevrolet vehicles in September 2014 compared to 7,048 units sold in Sep 2013, equating to 37% sales decline. Sales includes 143 units of exports that heralded GM in India’s maiden vehicle shipment to Chile.
Mumbai Port: 140 units of left hand drive Chevrolet Beat have been shipped from India to Chile by General Motors India. These exports mark the commencement of vehicle exports from the country and demonstrate company commitment to see GMâ€™s Indian products across global markets.

In addition to standard 1,00,000 kilometers/3 years warranty, Chevrolet customers can extend warranty by up to 2 more years/150,000 kilometers for a nominal charge.
General Motors India sales for December 2013 stand at 5705 vehicles as against 7067 cars sold in Dec 2012. This equates to 19.27% sales decline. Sales per vehicles is as follows: 2073 units of Beat, 1282 units of Sail, and 1,088 units of Chevrolet Enjoy.
General Motors India has announced one of its biggest vehicle recalls. 1.14 lakh units of Chevrolet Tavera BS-3 (2.5 liter variant) and BS-4 (2.0 liter variant) manufactured in model years 2005-2013 will be recalled by the company. GM stated that there were certain emission issues with regards to Tavera BS 3 while there was some specification constraints noted in the case of Tavera BS-4.
