The Isuzu brand in India is known in a big way largely due to Hindustan Motors‘ Ambassador, which uses an Isuzu engines since 1992. The tie up with Isuzu will give Hindustan Motors a boost in regards to production operation.
Ideally suited for cab operators due to its affordable price, enhanced interior space, and efficiency across Indian road conditions, bookings of the new Ambassador Encore have already commenced with the company receiving over 450 bookings to date.
At the Encore launch ceremony, an Ambassador car was gifted to Asha Roy of Singur who secured 2nd place in the 200 metres event in Asian Athletics Meet held at Pune in July, 2013.

Bookings will begin from September 2, 2013. Those making purchases in the replacement taxi segment will avail of reduction in the announced price.
Hindustan Motors (HM) is all set to launch their new Ambassador 1.5 liter diesel variant. The Ambassador receives an upgraded engine which has passed On Board Diagnostics II and other tests as per Rule 115 of Central Motor Vehicles Rules 1989 and has hence been certified by Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), Pune as being BS IV compliant.

Hindustan Motors Limited (HML) has entered into a joint agreement with Isuzu Motors India Pvt. Ltd, a subsidiary of Isuzu Motors Limited, Japan for manufacture of Isuzu SUVs and Pick-up trucks in the country. While all components for these vehicles will be imported into India from Thailand, assembly operations will take place at the HML plant in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu.
