Mumbai, January 8, 2014: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M), a part of the US $ 16.7 billion Mahindra Group today announced that it had sold more than 75,000 units of its cheetah-inspired XUV500 in just over two years since its launch.
Mahindra XUV500 SUV has entered Limca Book of Records for managing to complete the 3,997 kms long journey from Kanyakumari to Kashmir in just 62 hours and 20 minutes. The rare feat was achieved by a team of four people form Standard Chartered Bank.
Mahindra and Mahindra, India’s largest UV manufacturers, are all set to introduce a new base variant of the XUV500. This new variant, W4 will come in minus a few accessories and equipment due to which it will be priced lower than the current XUV500, which is available in two trims currently, W6 and W8 (2WD and AWD).
Launch of three new Mahindra vehicles has been announced in the Ghanian auto industry. These include their all new global SUV, XUV500, Xylo MPV and Genio. These three will be sold in Ghana byÂ Svani Motors, one of the leading automobile dealers in the region. They are also working on setting up a new assembly plant.
We all knew it was coming, and finally the word is out. Mahindra has revealed that they are ready with their new XUV500, with lower ground clearance. This will result in a price cut of Rs 33,000 as Mahindra XUV500 with lower ground clearance falls in the 27% excise duty segment, against 30% earlier.
The Mahindra XUV500 has been a recipient of many awards since the word â€˜GOâ€™. Ever since it was launched in May 2012, the SUV has picked up a total of 22 awards, which comprise the Car of the Year Award, SUV of the Year, Viewers Choice Car of the Year and Best Value for Money Car besides a host of others.
Mahindra XUV500, the much acclaimed global utility vehicle from Mahindra, now has over 1 million fans on Facebook. The SUV has also been launched in Nepal this week. Agni Incorporated has launched this SUV, as they also inaugurated their new showroom and service center to be operated by Balazu Auto Works.
Mahindra and Mahindra, the automotive part of the billion dollar Mahindra Group has issued a voluntary recall of some XUV500 SUVs manufactured in 2011/12. This recall is issued to replace three parts in the car- left wiper blade cover, front power window unit, and fluid hose.
Mahindra XUV500 Short Film Contest draws to a close. The prize was an XUV500 and the competition was organized in alliance with 48 Hours Film Project, India.
