Maruti Celerio AMT demand increases despite long waiting period and it looks like Alto 800, Alto K10 and Swift facelift are getting automatic variants, not all of them would be AMT.
Maruti Alto 800 gets a limited edition variant called Maximum with extra features. Limited edition tag is not new to the Alto badge and its always been somewhat the same story on what is offered over usual bells and whistles.
Maruti is indeed working on upgrading the Alto K10 hatchback and is expected to drop a diesel engine under Celerio newbie’s hood. Previous camouflaged spy shots of Alto raised doubts if its an upgrade to K10 or newer Alto 800.
India’s largest selling car, Maruti Suzuki Alto now comes with a airbag. Price of Alto with airbag starts from INR 3.35 lakh (ex-Delhi). This means for the lone driver side airbag in Alto, you will have to shell out about INR 18,000 extra. Apart from this, Maruti is also planning to introduce a diesel powered Alto 800.
No doubt, Maruti Suzuki’s mini passenger cars continue to rule the roost with the M800, Alto, A-Star, WagonR contributing to 34927 unit sales in April 2013 as compared to 30720 small cars sold in April 2012. This equates to 13.7% sales growth. For the period April’12 – March’13 429569 small cars have been sold by Maruti.
Maruti Suzuki will unveil their small car Alto 800 in Algeria in March 2013 during the 2013 Algerian Motor Show, which is scheduled to be held in March 2013.
