As of September 2013, Audi India has sold 7391 luxury cars. For the same period, January-September 2013, Mercedes-Benz India has sold 6461 units. At the moment, Audi has a lead of 930 vehicles over their closest known competitor at the moment.
For September 2013, Mercedes-Benz India sold 1011 cars as compared to 965 cars sold by Audi India. The slim margin of 46 more cars sold was enough to cement MB India’s position as top luxury automaker for the month. For the month, Audi India reported 4.5% sales decline when compared to September 2012 when the company sold 1011 units.

Mercedes Benz India has opened its new dealership in Rajkot, Gujarat, thus taking its total number of dealers in the country to 58. This new facility in Rajkot is spread over an area of 21,000 sq ft and has been constructed at an investment of Rs 7 crore.

Keeping in mind increased demand for luxury vehicles and operational growth, Mercedes Benz India will soon double production capacity at its Chakan Plant. Production capacity is being increased from a present 10,000 to 20,000 units from early 2014.
