Mercedes Benz India has opened its new dealership in Rajkot, Gujarat, thus taking its total number of dealers in the country to 58. This new facility in Rajkot is spread over an area of 21,000 sq ft and has been constructed at an investment of Rs 7 crore.
With the Indian plant opening up production capacity next year, it is now exciting to see how this increase in capacity will be used.
Mercedes Benz India has concluded its Mercedes Benz Young Star Driver challenge which was held at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida. This was one of a kind search for young racing talent in the country and it was Nirajan Todkari from Aurangabad, Diljith TS from Thrissur and Mezaan Anees from Bangalore who were declared winners in first, second and third place respectively.

Keeping in mind increased demand for luxury vehicles and operational growth, Mercedes Benz India will soon double production capacity at its Chakan Plant. Production capacity is being increased from a present 10,000 to 20,000 units from early 2014.
Today, Mercedes Benz India sees the first GL Class SUV roll off the production lines from its plant in Chakan, near Pune. Local production of GL Class contributes to a more affordable price tag.

For the first time ever, Mercedes Benz is going to produce their GL Class full size SUV outside the US, and the chosen one is their plant in India, which is operated by their Indian subsidiary, Mercedes Benz India. The start of production is scheduled for 26th August 2013.
