Mercedes Benz India has concluded its Mercedes Benz Young Star Driver challenge which was held at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida. This was one of a kind search for young racing talent in the country and it was Nirajan Todkari from Aurangabad, Diljith TS from Thrissur and Mezaan Anees from Bangalore who were declared winners in first, second and third place respectively.

Keeping in mind increased demand for luxury vehicles and operational growth, Mercedes Benz India will soon double production capacity at its Chakan Plant. Production capacity is being increased from a present 10,000 to 20,000 units from early 2014.
Today, Mercedes Benz India sees the first GL Class SUV roll off the production lines from its plant in Chakan, near Pune. Local production of GL Class contributes to a more affordable price tag.

Mercedes Benz India sales figures for the April to June 2013 quarter stand at 1756 units. The company has clocked 32.33% Year on Year growth with 1,327 units sold in the April-June 2012 period. This is the best quarter for Mercedes Benz from among the past eight quarters, and the company owes this success to increased demand for the new A Class, M Class and GL Class. Sales of E-Class and C-Class continue to play a major role in increased sales.
