Mercedes-Benz S-Class is the recipient of the 2014 World Luxury Car award at New York International Auto Show (NYIAS). This is the 1st year for the World Luxury Car award. The category was created to recognise higher-price premium cars being sold in more limited numbers globally.
The new S-Class, from Mercedes-Benz, was launched in India today at a starting price of Rs 1.57 crores, ex-showroom, New Delhi. Only one variant on offer, S500, the 2014 S Class will be sold as a CBU.
Mercedes-Benz India continues their product offensive into 2014, as they have announced the launch of new S-Class on 8th January 2014. But, even before the car is launched, the new S-Class is sold out for the first three months.
Mercedes Benz S Class W222 luxury sedan has received top honors at 2013 Guangzhou Auto Show, when it was declared ‘2014 China Car of the Year’. It received this award beating 52 other makes and models and was declared a winner by a group of 10 editors-in-chief from some of China’s top motoring publications.
It has been just 3 months since the Mercedes Benz S Class has been launched, but Daimler has confirmed that they have already received over 30,000 bookings. Most of these bookings are in Germany and neighboring European countries. Apart from this, Daimler has also revealed that the new S Class is now launched in all key markets.
Mercedes-Benz Sindelfingen plant, a state of the art manufacturing unit which has come up at an investment of €1 billion is where the company’s new S Class sedan has recently entered production. The new plant has been under construction since 2011 with around €350 million invested in construction of body shop, another €130 million invested in press shop and close to €70 million in assembly.
Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG made their presence felt at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. The event saw a 12 car Mercedes-AMG fleet pressed into service to keep pace with the glam quotient. The high powered vehicles offered exclusive shuttle service, and some were used as display vehicles. For those keen on test drives, AMG was obliging.
Fragrant Mercedes Benz S Class launch at Hamburg Airbus A380 delivery centre. The S350 will sport a 3 liter V6 diesel rated at 255 hp, S500 will possess a 4.7 liter V8 petrol offering 448 hp and the Mercedes Benz S400 Hybrid will have a 3.5 liter V6 petrol hybrid engine offering 302 hp.
